New relay server

25 November 2010 10:03:24 +0000

We have commissioned a new server in London, England. Currently the primary purpose of this server will be to act as a mail relay, and will replace the existing relay server. Essentially, the relay server is being moved closer to those who use it the most. However, it is also configured to be more secure against spam. As such, it will only accept mail submissions on port 587, rather than the standard port 25 for SMTP. If you use the relay server, you will need to make a small configuration change to your email program or on-site mail server to use port 587. The address ( of the server will remain the same.

We’ll be testing the server over the next week or so, and we’ll send an email to those clients who use the relay server early next week with a date to transition to the new server. If all goes well we may make the transition on 4 December 2010. However, should clients need more time to adapt, we may move that back a week to 11 December.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact support.
